At last weekend’s Pitchfork Music Festival WBEZ Music asked their favorite performers to play a few songs near Union Park. Dubbed “The L Sessions” due to their proximity to Chicago’s L train, they figured performing next to the L was more authentic than sitting in a press tent (even if the trains made a racket when they went past). Here is their first installment—St. Vincent performing “Actor Out of Work.”

St. Vincent will be joined by a slew of artists on Tuesday, June 8th at Summerstage’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Gala in Central Park. From Summerstage’s website…
“On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, City Parks Foundation (CPF) will welcome guests to the SummerStage 25th Anniversary Celebration, an annual fundraising benefit, to support CPF’s free year-round arts programming.

My sincerest apologies that we had to cancel tonight’s performance at Outland on Liberty. Unfortunately the promoter and venue were not able to provide us with a working sound system. We tried all we could to make it work, but in the end had to make this tough decision.
